Caring for your Fox Floof Suit

Cleaning

Heads – Should generally just need to be disinfected after every use, done by saturating inside with isopropyl alcohol water mix, avoid the eyes. If needed, clean the head with gentle detergent and cold water, you can also use this method to clean the inside. To do a more deep clean you can submerge the neck and head in cold water with gentle detergent, be sure to rinse well. A Bisell Little Green or other similar machine would also work well, just be sure to use cold water. Pat out excess moisture, let air dry in front of a fan, brush periodically until completely dry. Avoid the eyes, they have been sealed but it is still best to avoid. If there is a really stubborn spot use Folex.

FeetPaws – Recommended you hand-wash in cold water with gentle detergent. Be sure to rinse well. Pat out excess moisture, let air dry in front of a fan. Gently brush fur periodically during the drying process until completely dry.

Tail and HandPaws – Can be hand-washed in the same way as the FeetPaws. You can also put them in the washing machine using cold water and gentle detergent. If in the washing machine, turn inside-out or put inside of a pillowcase to protect the fur. Air dry in front of a fan, brushing periodically until completely dry.

Bodysuit – Can be washed in the washing machine with cold water and gentle detergent. Remove all padding and turn inside out before throwing it in the washer. Make sure all soap is removed. Air dry in front of a fan, brushing periodically until completely dry.

Care and Storage

During Wear – It is highly recommended that under-armor and a cooling balaclava is worn when suiting to increase life of costume. Always wash your under-armor and balaclava after every wear.

After Wear – Before storing, be sure the suit is completely dry. Always brush out before storing in a dry container. Take care to place them in storage with the fur facing the right way to prevent wrinkling. Recommend having a moisture/smell wicking pouch in with the costume.

Disinfecting – Recommended being done in between wears (such as at a con, or in between deep cleans). Use a 60/40 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water in a spray bottle. Spray inside the head, feet, hands, and bodysuit (mainly get high sweat areas). Do not spray the eyes. Air them out in front of a fan.
